Summer holidays are peak season for reading, either out, because it's too hot to do anything else, or inside because it's too cold to be outside. I always take a trip to the library just before body space it closes for the summer, then I have books throughout the summer holidays. Here is a list of some of my favorite books. (Excuse the somewhat body space inelegant gaps here and there, Blogspot has turned crooked and will not let me fix it ...)
PS I Love You by Cecelia Ahern is about 30 years old Holly is suddenly widowed when her husband died of illness. But before he died, he left a letter to her, which he gives her duties to help her to move on in life without him. The book is sad, of course, but it is very nice too. It has also been made into a film with Hilary Swank and Gerard Butler in the lead roles.
A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary body space for Lovers by Xiaolu Guo's a pretty special book. It's about Zhuang coming from China to London to study English. She struggles to understand both the language and society, both of which are completely different from what she grew up with. The entire book is written in English gebrokken, such as Zhuang English, but it does only better, in my opinion. And it does not exactly body space something that it has one of the nicest covers I've seen (although I've read it out long ago, is still lying on my nightstand, body space just because it's so nice). One of the most exciting series I've read is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The action takes place sometime in the future, and the main character, Katniss, lives in Panem, what was once North America. Panem is divided into several districts, and as punishment body space for that they once tried to rebel, must reach all districts send two children each, every year, to fight in the Hunger Games (The Hunger Games in English). The rules for these games is simple: 24 participants are sent into the arena, and the winner is the last one left alive. I was completely blown away by the books and of the bloody injustice body space of people from rural areas are experiencing. One of the series I have recommended and loaned to read my happy friends. Then Removing the I've heard, they all liked it. The first book is titled simply The Hunger Games, the second is called Catching Fire and the third and last called Mockingjay.
The scariest book I've read so far, is Darlah by Johan Harstad. NASA wants to generate new interest in space, so they make a lottery where three lucky youngsters body space will win a trip to the moon. Midori, and Mia Antoine wins, and after exercise and training they are placed in a spacecraft bound for the moon with experienced astronauts. Even before they travel, experiencing all three unexplained events, and when they land on the moon begins several things to happen. I mean, this is shit scary book. I lay awake a whole night and read, because I could not put the book down until I had read it. I would definitely recommend reading it now while it's light outside, and I must warn you that the book could lead to at least easier moon horror. (But it's a good book, then, one is the completely blown away by it.)
Mofongo by Cecilia Samartin is far cozier than Darlah. It's about Sebastian who, because of a heart defect can not do everything other kids can. He spends much time in his grandmother's kitchen, and together they make food that brings together a divided family. I can almost guarantee that you're going to get hungry from reading this book, the descriptions of the food they produce are really tempting and I had constant desire for food while I read it.
Other books I can recommend is Shopaholiker series by Sophie Kinsella (very funny and easy to read books), Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Johathan Safran Foer (the whole book is just as amazing as the title) and the strange incident with the dog that night by Mark Haddon.
